Back For Another Go, Back For Another Direction

Well, it's not that far from a YEAR since my last post now, so assumptions that this blog is dead would be pretty intelligent. But I think it'd be too much of a shame if I just let it go for no real reason. It can still be salvaged. Can't it?

So, ok, let's go through the reasons why I stopped updating the blog.

I didn't really have a direction to move in. I didn't have a clear path to report on. I felt as if I was plucking topics to write about out of anywhere. And in the blog industry, that just doesn't cut it. You see, blogging is about writing useless and essentially random posts about a very specific basis. That is, every blog must have it's own gimmick. If you have a blog about cars, that's boring to read and write about. But if you have a blog about Mercedes cars, you're suddenly tapping into a more specialised field, and concentrating interest. Am I wrong?

Also, you know, I got 13 posts done, and they were pretty lengthy posts, but without a direction to go by, I didn't feel it was leading anywhere. I was blathering on and on and on about anything that happened throughout the movie universe, and it took me 13 posts to realise that's not really what I'm interested in writing about. Publically demeaning Peter Jackson was fun, don't get me wrong, but I just don't think I want to write a blog like that. If I could start a blog that was all about ripping the shit out of people, then yes, that would be acceptable. But let's face it, that concept's been done to death.

I've decided on the point of writing I feel best suits this blog. And that is reporting the contemporary and upcoming movie releases, week by week. Movie trailers are an immense hobby of mine, and I think my commentary on them is perhaps the high point of this blog. I don't care if you disagree, I have like one reader anyway, so its not going to be a particularly damaging decision, now is it?
So instead, I'm cutting off the unwanted fat of the constant BOOORING obituaries and lame witticisms and starting this blog anew. And I'm actually excited.

Wish me luck.
